3rd great grandparents from Lincoln...
Robert Day Bust
is my 3rd great grandfather. (Maternal)
He obviously had an interesting life as an auctioneer - with bankruptcies,
and 3 wives, travel back from New Zealand to England.
He was born in Winterton, Lincolnshire, England, in 1812.
His father, I think, was Martin Bust, and his mother Frances Day.
The 1841 Census has Martin and Fanny Bust residing at Gausten Farm, Winterton,
ages 65 and 50. Along with 6 farm servants, they lived with Robert Day and a Elizabeth
Day, ages 55 and 50.
Presuming Robert is Fanny's brother
Look for Gausten Farm on google maps
Scan historical map or look on NL of Scotland
So if R D Bust married Harriett Woodall in 1833, where were they in 1841C
and 1851C -found Harriet and son Robert, dau Sarah
where was Mary Jane Bust born, Auckland -yes, and her mother was Mary Mason along
with two other siblings, so the other children are half siblings.
then they went back to England?
back to NZ,
Robert Day Bust died in NZ 1877.
other women were Mary Mason and Harriet Drewartt
Mary Jane Bust married John McLean and died in Dunedin
Ancestry trees have another McLean marrying a Bust too.
